Weavy · the chronicler

The AI assistant for tabletop games.

Dump in your notes, docs or session recordings. Weavy organizes your world, writes NPCs, shops and stat blocks into your campaign, and preps your next session from your last one. You approve everything.

A folder of notes, a session recording, or nothing but what's in your head. All three work.

One session a month, free, forever. No card, no trial, no catch. Our Kickstarter backers already paid for it.

Every other AI answers questions. Weavy opens your campaign and gets to work.

So we asked ChatGPT and Weavy the same question about our own campaign, and screenshotted what came back. Nothing is edited.

The question: "What do my players currently know about who poisoned Grukk in my campaign, and give me one idea for revealing the rest next session."

ChatGPT

Has never met your campaign
ChatGPT answering that it does not have the campaign history available, will not guess what the players know, and asking for session notes to be pasted in
An honest answer, fairly given: it cannot know. So it asks you to paste in your session notes — which is the exact job you were trying to hand off.

Weavy

Knows exactly where you left off
Weavy in MythWeaver answering from the campaign's own lore: what the players know, what is still DM-only including a quote from the DM's own prep notes, and a reveal idea built from the campaign
Four steps through your own world first. Then: what the party knows, what is still DM-only — quoting your own prep notes back to you — and a reveal built from a rumor you seeded two sessions ago. It ends by offering to write the witness up as a lore entry.

This is not a knock on ChatGPT. It is the structural difference: your campaign lives here, so the assistant that lives with it never needs the recap. Rules stay honest too — seven systems, each with its own engine behind the sheet math, the bestiary and Weavy alike.

After a session

Upload a session. This is what you get back.

The write-up

Everyone gets the recap. Nobody wrote it.

One write-up for the table and a personal one for each player, in their inbox and your Discord before anyone's logged off. Their character sheets even pick up notes about what happened to them. You approve it all before it sends.

Cast and places in a real campaign: 31 people the recorded sessions turned up, each with how many sessions they appeared in and when they were last seen

The world

A wiki of your campaign that writes itself.

Every person and place your sessions turn up gets logged: how many sessions they've been in, when they were last seen, who's dead. That screenshot is our campaign after twelve sessions: 31 people, none of them typed in by hand. Keep the ones that matter, ignore the rest.

The loop

Your last session helps you prep the next one.

Every screenshot below is our own campaign, the week this page was written.

1 · You play

The session write-up header: The Vampire's Ultimatum and the Road to Neverwinter, with 39 moments, 12 characters and places, and 8 scenes added automatically

Session 12 wrote itself up: 39 moments, 12 people and places, 8 scenes.

2 · You ask for next week

The Weavy composer with a real request typed in: help me consolidate my world lore, make sure everything written is in line with the Campaign Arc

One request, in plain words.

3 · The plan shows up in your world

The prep doc Weavy filed: Next Session — The Road to Neverwinter, with The Frame, three beats, and loose threads to weave in

Beats, rumors to seed, loose threads to pull, filed next to your lore. Edit it or wing it.

4 · Next session is already waiting

One click from the campaign's front door. Then you play, and the loop starts again.

Kickstarter Funded 2023

The community funded it. We built it. Still going.

In 2023, 606 people put real money behind an idea. We shipped it, kept shipping, and three years later this page is full of the receipts.

Free actually means free here.

Most tables use MythWeaver without ever paying us, and that is fine by us. We are part of this hobby, not a company mining it.

Not a trial

There is no clock running. Next month you get another one.

No card

We do not ask for one, so we cannot charge you by accident.

Not a preview

The session you get free is the whole thing. Full recap, full notes, full lore, yours to export.

The MythWeaver team around a table

Since 2023

We've been putting AI at the table longer than almost anyone.

We Kickstarted an AI campaign tool in 2023, when most DMs had not touched one yet, and we have shipped every month since. Three years of real tables: six people talking at once, homebrew everywhere, a mic under a bag of crisps.

A demo works in a demo. This has had three years of actual game nights thrown at it.

Weavy drafts. You decide.

Weavy pulls out the names, the events, the loot, and writes the first draft. You review it, correct it, cut what you don't want, and hit send. The good version of your campaign is the two of you combined, and your players only ever see the version you approved.

On the AI question.

It writes down what your table said. It does not invent what happened and never rewrites your prose. Every image it makes pays the artists whose work trained the model.

It listens to your sessions, too.

Hand Weavy a recording and it handles the rest: transcription, who said what, and everything downstream. Getting the audio is the easy part.

You play on Discord

Craig, a recording bot, or your own client's record button. Drop the file in and you are done.

You play at a table

A phone in the middle, face up. That is genuinely it. Bad audio is fine, we are not transcribing a courtroom.

You'd rather not record

Paste a transcript, or write the session up in a few lines and let it do the rest. Audio is the easiest way in, not the only one.

Half of you already record. Upload the last one you have sitting in a folder and see what comes back.

Who makes it

Made by people who still have to prep on Thursday

No investors, no growth team, no office. Community funded in 2023, day jobs since, and every photo below is really us — our table, our printers, our own bad lighting.

We build campaign software because we run campaigns, and the app captures on this page come out of accounts we actually play in rather than a demo seeded for a screenshot.

Questions we get asked.

What can Weavy actually do?

Read what you give it (notes, docs, recordings, or just what you type), file your world into lore entries, write NPCs, shops, locations and session plans into your campaign, and update its own work when you correct it. It never rewrites something you wrote yourself, and nothing it writes reaches your players until you send it.

What's the catch with the free tier?

There isn't one, but here's the honest shape of it. One session a month is enough for a monthly group and not enough for a weekly one. We're betting that if you play every week you'll want more, and that you'll be happier paying for it once you've seen what comes back. If you play monthly, genuinely, enjoy it. It's already paid for.

My group plays every week. Is one session a month any use?

For a week, yes. After that you'll want Basic, which covers four sessions a month. We'd rather say that now than let you find out in week two.

Do my players need to pay?

No, never, on any plan. There's no per-seat pricing. The free plan covers a party of five across three campaigns; paid plans lift both.

What can you actually do with the recording?

Transcribe it, separate the speakers, and read the session: scenes, who did what, every person and place that got named, what was found or bought or handed over, and the order it all happened in. You get all of that as a draft to approve before anything reaches a player.

What if the audio is bad?

It usually is. A phone in the middle of a table, four hours, someone's dog. That's the case we've spent two years on. Very quiet recordings and heavy crosstalk will cost you accuracy on who said what, which you can fix by hand.

Does it work in languages other than English?

Not yet. Transcription is English only today. Everything else works regardless of what your table plays, but the session write-up will not.

Can I edit what it writes?

All of it. Every recap, every note, every lore entry. Nothing it writes is locked, and it never edits prose you wrote yourself.

Which game systems do you support?

Seven with real rules engines underneath: D&D 5e, D&D 2024, D&D 3.5, Pathfinder 1e, Pathfinder 2e, Starfinder 2e and Daggerheart. Anything else runs fine as a campaign, you just don't get resolved character sheets.

Who's behind this?

A couple of nerds who run games in Spokane. 606 people funded us on Kickstarter in 2023, pledging $91,131 against a $3,000 goal, and the people paying for it since have funded everything after that. No venture money.

Start with the session you already played.

Upload it, see what comes back, and decide after that. One a month is free forever, and we do not ask for a card to prove it.
